The Copyright Music Organisation of Trinidad and Tobago will be represented at the NORCODE Regional Training Programme on Collective Management of Copyright and Related Rights in the Digital Environment. The conference will take place from November 19 to 23, 2018 in Bridgetown, Barbados.
The training will provide attendees with an understanding of the role of collective management in small, developing countries; developing efficient licensing practices in the music industry and identifying opportunities and challenges in the digital market place.
The programme will host a total of 16 participants. Two participants from COTT applied and were selected – Mrs Ayanna Belgrave-Lewis, Chief Executive Officer and Mr David Bereaux, Distribution and Documentation Coordinator.
“I’m looking forward to this as it appears to be a very intense course that will cover a lot of topics. The exposure to the Digital aspect is an area that COTT needs to explore more. So I look forward to hearing about this,” said Mrs Belgrave-Lewis. Mr Bereaux expressed his area of interest, “I’d like to get guidance on the implementation of Neighboring Rights.”
This is the first of two conferences taking place in the Caribbean this month. On November 26th and 27th, the Association of Caribbean Copyright Societies will host their Annual General Meeting in Port of Spain, Trinidad.
