To be eligible for COTT membership as a Publisher, you must establish that you have been assigned a minimum of five (5) copyright musical works.

If you publish works written by a composer or author other than yourself, please provide copies of contracts establishing the assignment of copyright of those works or the assignment of the right to receive any performance and, or mechanical royalties that may be attributed to a publisher’s share of those works.

There is an application fee of 750.00 Non-refundable   When submitting your COTT application, you will need the following documents:

1. a completed and signed application form
2. proof of copyright ownership e.g. contracts, with respect to each musical work claimed by you in support of your application;
3. completed Notification of Work Forms according to the above eligibility criteria
4. a copy of any commercial recordings;
5. if incorporated, you need a copy of the Articles of Incorporation and Certificate of Incorporation
6. a copy of your ID Cards, Birth Certificates or passports; and Certificate of Registration, sole trader or partnership

Upon approval of your application, COTT will issue a membership contract to be signed and returned.
